Nickolas Robelek is currently pursuing his Juris Doctor at the University of Ottawa. He has a BA in Economics and Financial Management from Wilfrid Laurier University, where he graduated with the Academic Award for being top graduate in the Economics Program. During his undergraduate studies, Nick was involved in research about international mobile payment systems and block chain technologies. He also was exposed to community-based research and co-facilitated an international conference C2UExpo (Community-Campus-Exposition) showcasing community-campus partnerships that address local and global societal problems. Currently, Nick’s research focuses on international treaties and their implications on intellectual property law. He explores “scaling up” innovations within the continent of Africa as well as collaborative environments and ecosystems expanding innovation.
Nick is providing research support for an EEPRN project entitled: "Intellectual Property’s Impact on Clean Innovation: A Knowledge Synthesis". This work will be completed under the supervision of Jeremy de Beer.
