Vasundhara is a postdoctoral fellow at the Smart Prosperity Institute, where her main focus is researching the barriers and drivers of the low-carbon transition in the Canadian context, including the role of the green bond market and other financial tools and policy instruments. Vasundhara has her Ph.D. in Sustainability Management from the University of Waterloo's School of Environment, Enterprise and Development, where she also holds a Master of Environmental Studies. She has a B.A. (Hons) in Environmental Studies with a minor in Economics from Carleton University.
Prior to joining SPI, Vasundhara consulted with various think-tanks and policy organizations, including the International Institute for Sustainable Development, Investors for Paris Compliance, Shamba Centre for Food & Climate, Centre for International Governance Innovation, Corporate Knights Inc., and the UN Office for REDD+ Coordination in Indonesia, among others.
In 2020, she founded a University of Waterloo women's mentorship initiative called Waterloo Women Leading Academia and has served on the founding editorial board of Smart Prosperity: The Podcast.
