Vasundhara will be joining Smart Prosperity Institute as a postdoctoral fellow, where her main focus will be researching the barriers and drivers of the low-carbon transition in the Canadian context, including the role of the green bond market and other financial tools and policy instruments. Vasundhara will be getting her Ph.D. in Sustainability Management from University of Waterloo's School of Environment, Enterprise and Development (SEED), where she also holds a Master of Environmental Studies (MES). She has a B.A. (Hons). in Environmental Studies with a minor in Economics from Carleton University.
Prior to joining SPI, Vasundhara has consulted with various think-tanks and policy organizations, including International Institute for Sustainable Development (IISD), Investors for Paris Compliance, Shamba Centre for Food & Climate, Centre for International Governance Innovation (CIGI), Corporate Knights Inc., and the UN Office for REDD+ Coordination in Indonesia (UNORCID) among others.
In 2020, she founded a University of Waterloo women's mentorship initiative called Waterloo Women Leading Academia (WWLA) and has served on the founding editorial board of Smart Prosperity: The Podcast.
