The Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks is responsible for protecting clean and safe air, land and water, and for sustaining healthy ecosystems and prosperous, vibrant communities for all generations. As part of its mandate, the ministry is leading the fight against climate change, implementing a cap and trade market, adapting to the effects of climate change, protecting water resources such as the Great Lakes, increasing waste diversion, modernizing processes under the Environmental Bill of Rights and improving drinking water for Indigenous communities.
