Mackenzie Finkbeiner developed her keen interest in the environment during her undergraduate degree while evaluating current global issues that always seemed to be impacted, or instigated by, a changing climate. Mackenzie is now in the process of completing the Master of Environmental Sustainability program at the University of Ottawa where she is working to understand and identify communication issues related to species enhancement and protection. Mackenzie has a background in communications which helped to inform her work with the SPI communications team. While at SPI, Mackenzie compiled summaries, media reports, blog posts, and factsheets, and helped to effectively communicate SPI’s larger reports and deliverables internally, and to related organizations, stakeholders, and partners.
