Diana Liverman is Professor of Geography, Environment and Development at the University of Arizona and a Fulbright fellow with the Smart Prosperity Institute at the University of Ottawa in Fall 2022. Her research has focused on the human dimensions of global environmental change including climate impacts, vulnerability, adaptation and justice; environmental governance and sustainable development. Her recent publications have examined the climate adaptation, geographies of the Sustainable Development Goals, women in climate science, earth system justice, and the legacies of NAFTA/USMCA along the Mexican border. She is working with the Earth Commission to envision safe and just targets for the earth system and is an elected member of the US National Academy of Sciences.
