Dan is a Research Associate with Smart Prosperity Institute. Dan holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Victoria and a Master of Laws in Criminal and Regulatory Law and Procedure from Osgoode Hall Law School. Before joining the team, Dan worked as Legislative Policy Advisor with Environment and Climate Change Canada conducting a legislative review of the fines and sentencing provisions of federal environmental acts in Canada. In addition to his work with SPI, Dan is Crown Counsel with the BC Ministry of Attorney General undertaking criminal and environmental prosecutions. In his spare time, Dan enjoys reading, attempting new plant-based recipes, and exploring nature on foot or mountain bike (invariably with his English lab, Walden). Dan is based in Kelowna, BC.
