Angela Barakat

SPI Research Fellow, 2018-2019

Angela is currently working towards a Master of Science in Environmental Sustainability at the University of Ottawa. Previously, she completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Carleton University. Angela’s research in the master’s program is focused on the influence of protected areas on the decline of species at risk in Canada. 

Angela’s research at the Smart Prosperity Institute is focused on embodied greenhouse gas emissions in the production of different materials and how the Waste Reduction Model (WARM) can be used to look at alternative strategies to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from waste.
