Sara M. Bechtold is a Student Research Assistant at SPI and PhD candidate at the University of Ottawa’s Institute of the Environment. Her professional background includes more than a decade of experience in regulatory affairs and corporate sustainability strategy in the Middle-Eastern energy sector. Sara's research examines how forward-looking, corporate climate-related disclosures affect the credibility and utility of information for investors. She focuses on how such disclosures influence organizational readiness for the net-zero transition and contributes work to advance a climate information architecture in Canada with her colleagues on SPI's Sustainable Finance team. Sara holds a Master of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School.
