Sara M. Bechtold

Student Research Assistant

Sara M. Bechtold is a student Research Assistant at the Smart Prosperity Institute, where she contributes to work on the climate information architecture. She is also a PhD candidate at the University of Ottawa’s Institute of the Environment. Her research examines how forward-looking corporate climate-related disclosures affect the credibility and utility of information for investors, with a focus on how such disclosures influence organizational readiness for the net-zero transition. She holds a Master of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School, and her professional background includes over a decade of experience in Regulatory Affairs and corporate sustainability strategy in the Middle Eastern energy sector.
