He has advised governments and private sector clients as an analyst and has previously worked for Clean Energy Canada, Navius Research, and The Canadian Energy and Emissions Data Centre.
Shahid has a background in engineering and economics and holds a Master's degree in Resource Management (with a focus on energy economics and macro-energy systems modelling) from Simon Fraser University.
Shahid is pursuing his Ph.D. in Civil and Mineral Engineering at The University of Toronto with a focus on macro-energy systems engineering. His research seeks to incorporate critical mineral supply dynamics into energy systems optimization models to better assess trade-offs at the critical mineral – GHG emissions nexus.
