Deishin Lee is an Associate Professor of Operations Management and Sustainability at Ivey Business School. Deishin studies innovative operational and supply chain models that use raw material resources more effectively, thus reducing waste and improving environmental sustainability. She has studied the optimization of joint production operations of firms that sell their waste streams and food supply chain operations that rescue surplus crops for the food security network. Her work has been published in leading academic journals in Operations Management (e.g., Management Science, Manufacturing & Service Operations Management, Operations Research, Production and Operations Management) and agricultural economics and policy (e.g., Food Policy, American Journal of Agricultural Economics). Deishin has also disseminated her research through teaching cases that have been taught in courses worldwide. She has presented her work at leading industry and peer-reviewed academic colloquia (e.g., The Aspen Institute Business Education Symposium, The Alliance for Research on Corporate Sustainability Conference), and her research on gleaning operations has been used to brief policy-makers. Prior to her appointment at Ivey, Deishin was on the faculty at Boston College and Harvard Business School.
