As a response to the scarcity of natural resources, can the circular economy be applied to large industrial sectors? What are the best known practices and how can we initiate a process of circularization of operational methods within an organization or more broadly in a sector?
To explore these issues, Smart Prosperity Institute conducted research on best practices in the circular economy in 2019-20, with graduate students from the University of Ottawa, Polytechnique, and HEC across various Canadian industrial sectors (Agriculture, Automotive, Manufacturing, Bioeconomy, Electronics, Minerals and Metals, and Plastics).
Stephanie Cairns, Director of Circular Economy at SPI, will share the results of this research. This seminar will also explore existing challenges for industrial players in terms of properly equipping themselves in the planning and implementation of these innovative approaches.
