Canada’s farmers are key stewards of the land and there are a variety of practices that allow them to continue to play a crucial role in addressing climate and biodiversity issues. Farmers, however, need support to continue these efforts, or economic incentives to adopt them and reap the productive, environmental, and social benefits that they can yield.

For this reason, the Smart Prosperity Institute in partnership with Co-operators, has produced a report on Canadian agricultural carbon markets. The report provides a comprehensive assessment for farmers of the market opportunities available across voluntary, regulatory, and other carbon offset systems, with the goal of helping farmers navigate the complex and often opaque world of carbon markets.
