Fuel use represents a major source of emissions in Canada, for example the transportation sector alone accounts for more than 27% of Canada’s emissions and continues to grow. If well executed, the Clean Fuel Standard (CFS) has the potential to reduce the carbon intensity of fuels while also incentivizing clean innovation. Smart Prosperity Institute welcomes the opportunity to provide comments to the Government of Canada on the Clean Fuel Standard Discussion Paper.
