Event Description:

Each year communities spend millions, and in some cases billions of dollars on energy, much of which leaves the local economy.

This webinar will highlight the untapped opportunities that Canadian communities have to strengthen local economies, reduce current and future energy costs and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and create jobs through community energy planning. The webinar will feature leading experts and will focus on real world examples.

Findings from the new report, Community Energy Planning: The Value Proposition, will be explored. The report released by the Community Energy Planning: Getting to Implementation in Canada (GTI) initiative identifies how community energy planning not only reduces energy consumption and costs, but has a positive effect on environmental and community health goals, as well as economic ones.
