Research Funding Opportunity

Do you think your environmental economics research can help advance innovative policies?

The Environmental Economics and Policy Research Network (EEPRN) is seeking proposals for academic research projects in the following research areas:

  • Policies for a Low Carbon Economy;
  • Innovation & Competitiveness;
  • Conservation (including species at risk protection);
  • Data Set Development & Linkages

This is a great opportunity for any student working on environmental economics topics to produce policy-relevant research. Proposals can be submitted by faculty, graduates students, or post-doctoral fellows. The selection committee will consider funding proposals generally not exceeding $25,000 per year.

Selected researchers will be invited to present their findings to a policy and academics audience at the annual EEPRN symposium in Ottawa (spring 2018). The travel and accommodation costs for this will be covered separately.

In addition, researchers will also be required to write a policy brief and encouraged to write blogs highlighting their main research findings and policy implications. This will particularly help funded students enhance their ability to share their results to a range of different audiences, including policy makers, other key policy actors, and the broader public.

Deadline for Applications is May 15, 2017
