Achim Steiner, United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), Executive Director, The Mowat Centre for Policy Innovation, Corporate Knights and Sustainable Prosperity held a half-day symposium on Ontario and the Green Economy. The symposium, which included lunch and a series of afternoon panel discussions, brought together leaders from the business and policy communities to discuss the roadmap for scaling up the necessary investment and policy framework to catalyze Ontario’s transition into a low-carbon, resource-efficient and competitive green economy. In partnership with the Economic Club of Canada, we are pleased to present Achim Steiner, Executive Director, United Nations Environment Programme and a leading thinker and advocate for the emerging global green economy, a lunchtime keynote speech highlighting how the environmental imperative for action is also an opportunity for economic transformation.
