The Canada 150 Research Chair Program stands at the center of a national strategy to make Canada one of the world's top countries in research and development by providing Canadian institutions with a one-time investment to attract top-tier, internationally based scholars and researchers to Canada. uOttawa will host Dr. Carolyn Fischer who will become the first Canada Research Chair to focus on climate economics, innovation and policy in Canada. Dr. Fischer will be cross-appointed between uOttawa’s Faculty of Social Sciences and the Institute of the Environment, in partnership with Smart Prosperity Institute (SPI). The appointment of a Canada 150 Research Chair in clean innovation policy contributes to uOttawa’s growing reputation as a global center of excellence in innovation and environmental economics.
